This chili pepper is one of the hottest in the world, on the Scoville scale of spiciness it ranges from 661,451 to 1,041,427 SHU depending on the origin and stage of ripeness.
Ripe peppers grow to a length of 60 to 85 mm and are colored in various shades of orange and red. Their surface is roughened and the skin is very thin compared to other chillies.
In India, Naga Jolokia is used as part of a homeopathic stomach remedy.
In addition to being used in the kitchen, it is also used as a filling for hand grenades designed to drive terrorists out of their hiding places and as part of highly effective pepper sprays.
Handle this pepper very carefully.
Red types of chili peppers are rich in vitamin C and carotene, some B vitamins, magnesium and iron.
Yellow and green peppers (unripe) have a significantly lower vitamin content. Chili peppers are native to the American continent, especially South America, where their cultivation and use is documented as early as 7,500 BC. After their discovery by Spanish colonizers, they very quickly spread to other tropical and subtropical parts of the world, so in addition to South and Central America, we can also find them in India, China, Japan, Vietnam and Africa. They are also widely used in the Balkans. They are used as a dish, spice and medicine. Their healing effects were described as early as the 15th century during the expeditions of Christopher Columbus.
