The fruits of limequat are round to slightly oval, about 3–5 cm in size. They have a light yellow-green color. The skin is thin and sweet.
The pale yellow flesh contains several seeds that are not eaten, and its flavor is similar to limes, but more acidic and slightly bittersweet.
Healthy fruits are shiny, firm, elastic, without spots. They can last up to several weeks in the cold.
The fruits can be consumed whole or with the pulp and juice to flavor drinks or dishes (in principle, it can be used in the same places as lime). They are used in marmalades and jellies, and are often used to fill cakes or other sweet pastries.
Limequat contains a large amount of vitamin C. It comes from China, is grown in Japan, Israel, Spain, Malaysia, South Africa, Armenia, Great Britain and the USA.
