Pasta with Peas

prepared for Titbit by: Oh My Chef

This pasta dish is super simple and totally spring-like. We call it “green pasta” for short :-). We used all our favorite spring ingredients: mint, baby spinach, young peas, and kohlrabi. And, of course, Pečes!

Ingredients for for 2 people

  • 200 g dried pasta (e.g. farfalle, fusilli, penne)
  • 1/2 kohlrabi
  • 70 g baby spinach
  • 8 peeled almonds
  • 100 g young peas (we can use whole pods, shelled peas or both)
  • 6 pcs of Pečes, plus a tablespoon of oil from a glass
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • salt
  • 20 mint leaves

Method

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water as needed.
  2. Steam the spinach in hot water for 5 seconds.
  3. Put it in a higher bowl together with the almonds, garlic, water, oil, mint and parmesan cheese and blend with a hand blender until smooth. Salt.
  4. Slice the peas thinly and fry them in a little olive oil to soften.
  5. Drain the pasta, add to the peas and stir in the pesto.
  6. Garnish with chopped kohlrabi, peeled peas and Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your meal.
